“Titan” presented ecologization projects in Skolkovo

Experts of the Group of companies took part in the work of the block “Clean Air - second breath” within the 2^nd International Forum-Exhibition “Clean Country”. They presented initiatives related to environmental ranking and project implementation of corporate “Eco-standard”.

It will be recalled that from March 16 to 18 the implementation results of all lines of the national project “Ecology” are discussed in 2020 with participation of Vice-Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko and Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov.

The head of the project office of the federal project “Clean Air” Alexander Vlasov and other experts of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, of the largest metallurgy, oil refining, petrochemistry and energy enterprises, specialists from banking structures, scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Research Institute of industrial ecology, as well as heads of regional authorities took part in the discussion within the framework of the block “Clean Air”. Alexander Burkov, the region Governor spoke about implementation of the national project “Ecology” in Omsk region:                                      

    - We can specify several trends in the program of national project implementation and the main one is to reduce pollution emissions in the atmosphere. By 2024, our task is to decrease the load level by 22% - it means 56 thousand tons per year. The task has been set by the President - and we need to accomplish it. Even today we can see that such companies as “Gazpromneft-ONPZ”, the plant “Omsky kauchuk” and “Poliom” are going for emission reduction by the effect of environmental modernization of their production facilities.

The event included discussion of such complete environmental solutions as enterprises greening incentive mechanism. The experts presented programs aimed at environmental impact mitigation. In particular, Alexander Vlasov noted great work of many industrial enterprises, including the Group of companies “Titan”, that are in progress on ecologization:

- In fact, “Omsky kauchuk” has recently done a lot concerning environmental protection, including the sphere of reducing atmospheric air pollution. Meanwhile, there is a number of problems, and the executive staff of “Omsky kauchuk” realizes that it is necessary to be more actively engaged in environmental protection activities. We met with colleagues and worked out jointly an action plan to change current situation.

The representatives of the Group of companies presented their projects in the matter of ecology on the first forum day within the work of the block “Clean Air – second breath”. Alina Rybina, Deputy General Director on Corporate Communications of the GC Titan, dwelt in her speech on the existing problems of urban ecology, she also announced the initiative to organize an equitable national award among eco experts. The project immediately gained support of Alexander Vlasov who expressed his readiness to join the working group in this line.

Another Titan representative, Alexey Obukhov, presented to the audience the project “Eco-standard” which is an initiative of the Chemical Industry Committee of “Delovaya Rossiya” supported by the Group of companies. Corporate industrial “Eco-standard” can become an instrument of the enterprise self-regulation to ensure compliance with the performance of the national project “Ecology” and with association to other national projects taken into account.  

- We do not have apprehensible mechanisms for production ecologization and communication with expert community and population, and “Eco-standard” can become such a mechanism. It is an example of non-state legal regulation, it’s implemented by approval of the appropriate Regulation, conclusion of agreements between interested parties and development of local regulatory acts at particular enterprises.

“Eco-standard” was presented to the experts of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, it also found support in scientific and business community. The GC “Titan” is ready to start the project implementation at its site, that will become thus a pilot one for the project.
