Denis Manturov gives a green light to the construction of polyisobutylene production at AO “Omsky kauchuk”

A solemn event devoted to the start of polyisobutylene production at AO “Omsky kauchuk” was held with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and Acting Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko and Chairman of the Board of Directors of AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

“This production will allow our country not to depend on polyisobutylene supplies from abroad. The product is used in lubricants, glues and sealants, electrical insulation products, emulsifiers, and in geological exploration. Today, more than 90% of low-molecular-weight polyisobutylene is imported,” Denis Manturov noted.

The implementation of the polyisobutylene production project became possible due to the federal support within the framework of the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1649.

“The capacity of the new production is 10 thousand tones of the product per year. We intend to implement this project by 2025. I should note that the launch of polyisobutylene production is a contribution to the development of low-tonnage chemistry and technological sovereignty of our country,” Chairman of the Board of Directors of AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky said.

We should note that AO GC Titan focuses on the implementation of projects in the field of low- and medium-tonnage chemistry. GC Titan discusses this topic at the federal and regional levels and, in addition, organizes events devoted to the development of low- and medium-tonnage chemistry.
