Experts of Chemical Industry Committee of “Business Russia” continue their work on transformation of procedures in the area of industrial construction

Another focus group was held that was devoted to the changes in the customer journey (algorithm of an investor’s steps) of industrial facilities. The event was organized by the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) with the participation of chemical industry committees of “Business Russia”.

A series of focus-groups on industrial construction re-engineering was started at the end of 2022. Previously, approaches to creating a unified platform for technological networking, technical and administrative barriers during industrial projects implementation, and criteria for assessing the efficiency of investment projects in SEZ were discussed.  

Deputy Director of the Spatial Development Center and expert of the Chemical Industry Committee of “Business Russia” Olga Torbich spoke about the amount of work done in the field of engineering:
“One of the main results is that we’ve made the customer journey 200 days shorter. Before that, the customer journey of an industrial facility was 2024 days. As of today, this number is 1824. It allows us to reduce the relevant costs of construction of industrial facilities by 4%.”

The objective of this focus group was to verify the changes of industrial construction procedures that were proposed, taking into account the target models that had been developed by the CSR.

Based on the results, draft amendments to the regulatory legal acts of the Government of the Russian Federation will be prepared.

"We plan to improve the regulatory framework in order to minimize costs in construction, so we aim to reduce the customer journey by 40% by 2030, which will allow companies to save up to 20% of the cost of construction of industrial facilities," summed up Olga Torbich.

It should be noted that a separate focus group on the application of BIM-technologies and expert support at all stages of the life cycle of capital construction projects is planned.
