GC Titan has started the second stage of modernization of commercial butane processing production

AO “Omsky kauchuk” plant has already received the new equipment – a heat exchanger and pumps.

The modern domestic equipment is going to be installed at the high octane additives and liquefied hydrocarbon gas production.

The use of the equipment, as explained at the enterprise, will allow sustaining a stable load at the unit and ensuring quality performance. The equipment is planned to be put into operation by the end of summer 2023 after completion of commissioning and adjustment works.

This will be the second stage of modernization of commercial butane processing unit, which was given the green light by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in June 2023. The purpose of the project is to ensure stable high loads for the methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) production unit, as well as to increase the output of normal butane and pentane fraction. The modernization of production will increase the processing of technical butane fraction at “Omsky kauchuk” to 210 thousand tons per year.
