GC Titan, Ministry of Industry of Russia, Governments of Omsk and Pskov regions signed an agreement at SPIEF 2023

At SPIEF 2023 the parties signed an agreement in order to establish strategic partnership and long-term, efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation as part of the preparation and implementation of an investment project to create an engineering center in the Pskov region.

The document was signed by Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Khotsenko, Acting Governor of Omsk region, Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of Pskov region and Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Titan.

The engineering center will create conditions for increasing the level of socio-economic development of the Pskov and Omsk regions, as well as the growth of scientific potential of the regions. In addition, the purpose of the agreement is to promote the implementation of scientific, technological and innovation policy, scientific analysis and research in the creation of new products based on various modern polymeric materials.

“The implementation of the new investment project on creation of the engineering center is a huge scientific contribution to the development of facilities of the chemical and petrochemical industry and other areas of the economy and industry. The engineering center will contribute to the training of high-class specialists in accordance with the changing demands of the industry. It will also help to develop and implement new science-intensive technologies and materials based on polymer products,” Denis Manturov noted.

“We consider the implementation of this project will ensure that a list of social and economic initiatives of the development of Russia will be completed before 2030. It will also ensure reaching the goals of the Strategy for the development of the chemical and petrochemical complex for the period up to 2030,” Mikhail Sutyaginsky said. 

Governor Mikhail Vedernikov emphasized that the agreement signed had united the Pskov and Omsk regions in the development of the chemical industry. The head of the region noted that with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Denis Manturov personally Titan-Polymer was built in the Pskov region. The plant produces an import-substituting product – BOPET films.  The production line was launched at the end of last year with the participation of President Putin.   

“Now we are starting an investment project to create the engineering center where young specialists will be able to develop and produce new polymer materials. In the future a complete industrial cluster will be created within the plant, which will create new jobs, strengthen the economy, and promote further development of small and medium-sized businesses. We are focused on long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation,” Mikhail Vedernikov summarized.

 “Interregional cooperation today plays an important role in achieving technological sovereignty. The Omsk region has scientific and technical potential. We have strong universities and serious achievements in the petrochemical industry. Consolidation will make it possible to strengthen the economies of both regions and provide the country with highly qualified specialists,” Vitaly Khotsenko emphasized.

Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the governments of the Omsk and Pskov regions and GC Titan will open new prospects for the development of the petrochemical and chemical industry, which will further contribute to the economic growth of the country.
