Omsk is set to become a centre for attracting regional scientific projects.

Today Omsk hosted a meeting of the organizing committee of the III Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference on Building up technological projects in the chemical industry.

The event has already become traditional after the initiative of the Chemical Industry Committee of the all-Russian public organization "Business Russia", the Russian Union of Chemists and Titan Group of Companies was supported by the Omsk region government. The Organizing Committee included representatives of federal and regional authorities, leaders of business communities, entrepreneurs, representatives of science and specialized universities.

In March 2023, the scientific and practical conference united 10 regions and more than 70 representatives of business, government and scientific community. Conference participants discussed not only programmes for the development of individual chemical products and increasing the number of processing steps, but also shared technological ideas and projects.

Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Titan Group of Companies:

- The purpose of the event is to develop effective tools for the implementation of import substitution programmes and new projects in the field of low- and medium-tonnage chemistry, which we can launch in the very near future, despite the existing sanctions restrictions. This year, the scientific and practical conference will be transformed into a permanent platform where we will attract interesting projects and solutions from all over the country. A separate programme will include a track of student projects. And next March we will gather again in Omsk to exchange practical experience and choose interesting partner projects for further implementation.

Andrey Posazhennikov, Minister of Industry and Scientific and Technical Development of the Omsk region:

- We propose to hold a scientific and practical conference within the framework of the industrial forum, giving a new impetus to our events. This will allow us not only to expand the audience of the conference, but also to include new topics of industrial projects development in the agenda.

The representatives of the organizing committee planned the following key areas on the conference platform: inter-sector and inter-regional cooperation, industrial cooperation, building up scientific projects, solving personnel issues and bringing together industry leaders. These are the topics that are actively discussed at the platforms of industry and business communities throughout the year.

Also within the framework of the meeting the participants of the organizing committee discussed the results of the last conference and formed proposals for new events. The updated programme will be presented in September this year.
