On August 11, 2023 a ceremonial presentation of appreciation letters on behalf of the Mayor of Omsk and medals from AO GC Titan on the results of the project implementation to install the monument to Ivan Buchholz and the founders of the first Omsk fortress took place at the Administration of the city of Omsk.
The employees of Omsk Administration and the Group of companies Titan, as well as sculptors, foundry workers and constructors who took part in the erection of the monument were honoured at the ceremonial event.
Olga Tarasenko, General Director of AO GC Titan:
"I would like to express gratitude to those with whom we co-operated in the implementation of the project. This is the staff of the Department of Culture of Omsk Administration - thank you for your meticulous work to recreate the historical image of Ivan Buchholz. I would like to acknowledge the work and devotion of the sculptor and author of the project Mikhail Minin, foundry workers and constructors - with your hands and efforts we managed to implement such a large-scale project in a short period of time. Particular thanks to the employees of our company".
Sergey Shelest, Mayor of Omsk:
"On the 4th of August, I believe a momentous event for our city took place: we eternalized memory of the people with whom the history of Omsk appearance on the map of Russia is related. The impulse that allowed us to successfully implement this great project was sincere love for the city. I thank Mikhail Alexandrovich Sutyaginsky for the work financing, Mikhail Pavlovich Minin and his team for the talented realisation of the idea".
The opening of the monument to Ivan Buchholz took place on the 4th of August with the participation of the Head of Omsk region Vitaly Khotsenko, the Mayor of Omsk Sergey Shelest, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky and the project's author Mikhail Minin. The project was a gift from the Group of companies Titan to Omsk citizens on the 307th anniversary of the city's foundation.
30 craftsmen have been working on it for 273 days. Total weight of all monument elements, including the horse and reliefs, is about 5 tonnes. The height of the monument is 8.3 metres, almost half of which is accounted for by the horse sculpture itself - 4 metres. Today, the monument has become not only the centre of attraction for the city's residents and its guests, but also a new symbol of Omsk.
