The largest petrochemical companies in the country discussed priority tasks for the industry during All-Russian teleconference timed to coincide with Chemist Day. The online meeting was organized by the Russian Union of Chemists (the AO GC Titan is part of the Union).

For the second year the AO GC Titan took part in the teleconference timed to coincide with Chemist Day. The AO GC Titan’s top-managers, together with the representatives of petrochemical companies from all over Russia, set up a work plan for the industry. One of today’s priority tasks for the chemical industry is import-substitution under sanctions. The AO GC Titan is currently working on it.

“It is important for us to have stable processes, enough raw materials and catalysts. We manufacture low- and medium-tonnage chemical products and thus reduce the import dependence of Russia. At the same time, difficult economic and external conditions haven’t changed our innovative activities. Moreover, today our projects are even more important. They will be implemented as soon as possible thanks to governmental support measures,” General Director of the AO GC Titan Olga Tarasenko noted.

Total production output of the Titan’s enterprises is more than 500 thousand tons per year. The products are in demand in Russia and abroad. The AO GC Titan is also a big investor, tax payer and employer of Omsk region – there are more than 4 thousand employees working for the company at the moment.

Andrey Posazhennikov, Minister of Industry, Communications, Digital and Scientific-Technical Development of Omsk Region emphasized the company’s contribution to the region development: “For many years, Government of Omsk region and the AO GC Titan have been strategic partners. Close interaction made it possible to implement a unified strategy for the socio-economic development of Omsk region into investment and social projects. Regional Government supports the company’s investment activity. Year after year the company shows high results, actively invests and grows, introducing modern technologies.”

2022 is an important year for the company. The AO Omsky kauchuk plant celebrates its 60^th anniversary this year. The plant has the most powerful capacities for the methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) production. 

During the event Sergey Ivanilov, General Director of the plant, told his colleagues from other regions about the achievements of the key petrochemical enterprise of Titan Group of Companies: “Over the 60 years of the plant's operation a lot has been done: many production facilities were built and then reconstructed, the country received millions of tons of synthetic rubber, methyl tert-butyl ether, phenol and acetone. The current situation in the world challenges us with new tasks, which I am sure we will accomplish effectively.”
