On December 13th the Museum of Fine Arts named after M.A. Vrubel hosted the presentation of the book “The Third Capital”, released with the support of the Group of Companies “Titan”. The event was held within the framework of the exhibition opening “Everything Remains for People. Maecenas. From the past to the present”.
The exhibition “Everything is left to people. Maecenas. From the past to the present” is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the largest art gallery behind the Urals and tells about the philanthropy traditions on Omsk land and museum friends, thanks to which numerous art, educational and restoration projects were implemented. Partners and members of the Board of Trustees of the Museum Development Fund, representatives of government authorities, of scientific and cultural community of the city are the guests of the exhibition opening.
The book “The Third Capital” presented at the event is the second edition, supplemented by new materials previously unknown to the general public. It tells about the cultural life of Omsk in 1918-1919. At that time the city on the river of Irtysh became the capital of the White movement, the attitude to literature, fine arts, theater and music was a specific one. The book is based on archival documents and memoirs of event participants, rare photos are used as illustrations. The circulation of the second edition was 1000 copies.
The updated “The Third Capital" was presented by Irina Devyatyarova, Editor-in-Chief, Head of the Russian Art Department of Omsk Museum named after M. A. Vrubel, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation.
The publication of the book was made possible thanks to the partnership relations of the museum and Group of Companies “Titan” which have been successfully developing for 15 years. Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum’s Development Fund, Head of the Group of Companies “Titan” told the audience about the “Art Gallery” project, which the company implements together with the museum, and presented a unique book to the distinguished guests.
