Omsk Union of Journalists: Omsk Eco-School for Modern Media was presented at the forum of modern journalism "All Russia-2023" in Sochi

It is one of the key projects of Omsk Union of Journalists, which is implemented supported by Gazprom Neft and GC Titan. Permanent partners are the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Omsk Region.

Eco-School for Modern Media is a long-term project; the programme started in 2022, and more than 50 people have already been trained since then. The project is aimed at professional development of journalists and bloggers covering ecology and environmental protection issues. Andrey Motovilov, Chairman of Omsk Union of Journalists, spoke about the Eco-School in more detail to the participants of the country's largest media forum.

- We presented the eco-school for the first time at the All-Russia Forum last year. At that time, the project aroused such great interest among our colleagues from other regions that we decided to tell them about the new programme and participants of the eco-school this time," Andrey Motovilov said. - The project is developing - we have recently opened a new educational season. More than twenty journalists and eco-bloggers have registered as attendees. And applications continue to come in, with classes and thematic press tours already taking place.

The new season programme is supplemented with lectures on environmental urbanistics, arrangement of ecological spaces in megacities, implementation of the national project "Ecology" on the territory of Omsk region, preservation of the forest resources and ecosystems of rivers and lakes, improvement of air quality, reclamation of landfills for solid municipal waste.

- It is great that the initiative is receiving such a wide response. We see that journalists are interested in the project. We are supported by our regular partners, large industrial enterprises such as AO GC Titan and Gazprom Neft. At the All-Russia Forum, colleagues from other regions want either to adopt the experience or join the project remotely," Andrey Motovilov said.

One of the eco-school tasks is to teach journalists and bloggers to implement outstanding media projects in the field of environment on their own. And they are succeeding in it. Last year graduate Tatiana Masterskikh developed her project " Nachistotu".

Channel 12 special correspondent Natalia Zmaga took part in the forum. She spoke about the new project "The Sun of Siberia".

- Omsk is the second city in our country in terms of the number of sunny days after Sochi, we have 360 days of sunshine a year. There are three solar stations operating in the region. In our film, we want to talk about solar energy and the technologies used in our region. Its presenter and main character will be a young scientist who will be testing his own development of solar panels for six months. The film will be shown on Channel 12, through social media, - the author of the project "The Sun of Siberia", special correspondent of Channel 12, Natalia Zmaga said. - It is very interesting for me to take part in the eco-school. I hope to get new knowledge and skills that will help me to implement my journalistic eco-project in the most interesting and high-quality way possible.

The "All-Russia 2023" festival takes place from 19th to 24th of September in Sochi. It is the largest media forum in the country. More than 1,000 journalists from almost all regions of Russia and abroad are taking part in its work.
