State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company of Pskov: More than 80 Pskov residents underwent professional retraining at Titan-Polymer

More than 80 residents underwent professional retraining and qualification courses in order to be able to use modern equipment of the plant. The company needs such rare specialists as a film material production operator, operator of vacuum coating process units, cutterman of intermediates and plastic products. Specialists are trained right at the plant. They learn the specialties required in the production process. Igor Danilov made sure of it himself.

Aleksandr didn’t have experience of working for a large enterprise. His previous job was connected with sales. He learned a new trade directly at the plant with the help from employees of one of the training centers.

“I learned occupational health and safety, the control of lifting gear, palletizer operation, and overhead crane operation,” cutterman of Titan-Polymer Aleksandr Ivanov, said. Anastasia is still undergoing the training. She started working at the plant just three weeks ago. She said that in such a short period of time she had already mastered document management programs and had gained skills in packing and shaping pallets.

“It’s not quite convenient when you start working here, but have no skills. This is why many people are not ready to work here. When you start working here it’s very good that you are simultaneously trained,” operator-accountant of Titan-Polymer Anastasia Maksimchuk said. 

For the company, the training system is only one of the measures to train skilled personnel. Employees also receive additional certificates and, which is the most important thing, gain relevant knowledge. They even take first aid courses.

“As part of the occupational health and safety control system, labor safety training is organized for all new workers. It includes both practice and theory. The practical part is studied directly in the workplace, under the guidance of experienced instructors,” Head of OSH, Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Department of Titan-Polyemr Pavel Boldin said. 

Now about 250 specialists are employed in the production of BOPET shelves. In the near future, a second line will be launched here, and more than 100 people are already ready to be additionally employed and trained if necessary.
